School Council & OneVoice

School Council

At Oakmeadow, our school council have 2 representatives (1 boy and 1 girl) from each class (years 1-6). School Councillors are voted for democratically by their classmates.
At the beginning of the year we were visited by our local councillor Teri Trickett, to inspire our pupils to take on the role of councillors and understand what this entails.
Our School Council meet regularly to discuss school life, raise any issues and discuss solutions or ongoing projects. School Council also take the lead for many of our fundraising events.
Recently, School Council have worked alongside our catering team to develop our menu’s, gathering pupil voice and trialling new meals. They have also chosen local charities to raise money for, helped to organise our colour run and bag2school fundraisers.

One Voice Committee

Our One Voice Committee is made up of pupils from Key Stage 2 who are committed to representing the views of their peers and contributing positively to school life. The committee meets once every half term in school and also attends trust-wide events, where pupils collaborate with representatives from other schools within the trust. Our Oakmeadow One Voice members represent the school with pride and demonstrate a strong commitment to helping improve our community.

Current Focus: Sustainability and Community
