Badgers had an incredible Forest School session in the beautiful sunshine βοΈ
Using their fantastic teamwork skills, the children worked together to build a variety of dens, sharing ideas and supporting one another throughout. It was lovely to see such creativity, cooperation and enthusiasm in the outdoors.
We even had a very special helper join us, with Oakie Bear lending a paw along the way ποΈ
Well done, Badgers for such a brilliant afternoon of learning and fun!

πΆ What an incredible day bringing our Trust together through music!
It was fantastic to welcome 150 singers from Marches Academy Trust schools to St Oswaldβs, Oswestry for an inspiring African Gospel Singing workshop. A huge thank you to all the children who joined us β you were all absolutely brilliant! π
The energy in the room was amazing, with children not only enjoying a wide range of songs but also learning about their meaning and importance within African culture. The atmosphere was full of joy, confidence and celebration, with everyone encouraged to take part and express themselves.
We also loved hearing this reflection from Emily:
βWe really enjoyed yesterday. We got to sing all sorts of different songs and learnt about what the songs actually mean to African culture. The people were very full of life and so was the crowd. You didnβt have to feel embarrassed to have a good time. Me and my friend even got a special shout out for our effort and interest in the event. It was genuinely a great experience and I would 100% go again.β
π What a fantastic experience for everyone involved!

Our Wave System is all about understanding, trust and the right support at the right time ππ
This short animation explains how we notice, respond and support children when they need a little extra help, whether that is emotionally, socially or with learning.
Every child moves through waves differently, and our approach helps staff work together to make sure no one is missed and every child feels safe, supported and ready to learn.
Watch the video to see how the Wave System works and how we support children and families every step of the way.

πΆββοΈ Walk to School Week πΆββοΈπΏ
From 18th to 22nd May 2026, we will be taking part in Walk to School Week, encouraging our children and families to choose active, healthy and greener ways to travel to school.
Walking, scooting or cycling to school is a great way to boost wellbeing, get fresh air and start the day feeling positive and energised. Even parking a little further away and walking the final stretch makes a real difference.
We are looking forward to seeing lots of active journeys and celebrating small changes that support both our health and the environment π

Mental Health Awareness Week is a chance for all of us to pause, reflect and take action to support our mental wellbeing π
This yearβs theme is Action, reminding us that even small steps can make a real difference. That might be checking in with someone, making time to talk, getting outside for fresh air, or asking for help when we need it.
Within our schools and communities, we are committed to creating safe, supportive environments where children, staff and families feel listened to, valued and cared for. Looking after our mental health matters just as much as our physical health, and we all have a role to play.
Take a moment this week to find one positive action that works for you and encourage others to do the same.
Find support, resources and ways to get involved by visiting Mental Health Awareness Week > mentalhealth.org.uk
