Bayston Hill After School and Holiday Club

We are a community based group operational since 1999. We have an excellent partnership with school which has a very positive impact on children’s daily experiences. Offering flexible childcare that fits in with your life whether its one off use, shift work patterns and regular sessions.

We are registered with Ofsted for up to 48 children. Our staff members are qualified. They also work in school enabling a close bond with the children in our care.

We open 5 days a week, 48 weeks of the year, closing for Christmas, middle 2 weeks of summer and bank holidays. Term time sessions finish at 5.45pm. Holiday sessions start at 8.30am and finish at 5.45pm; other start and finish times are available.

We offer sibling discount and session prices include a healthy snack. For booking information please see booking forms attached below.

Highlights from our recent Ofsted inspection carried out by Mr Scott Thomas-White on 23rd September 2016.

The effectiveness of leadership and management and quality of teaching and learning  are rated as overall good because:

  • Children are highly motivated, engaged and think critically.
  • Children are confident and are sensitive to their friends’ feelings.
  • Staff skilfully promote children’s self-esteem.
  • Partnership working with the school is excellent and has a very positive impact on children’s daily experiences.
  • The staff team provides activities and experiences that build on children’s learning in school extremely well.
  • Staff foster children’s curiosity and imagination
  • Staff encourage deep engagement in activities through their positive interactions.
  • The range of toys and resources available for the children to use, match their interests and ages.
  • Staff plan meaningful and relevant experiences that enable children to learn about people who live in the village and celebrations from around the world.

To become outstanding in these areas we should:

  • Find ways to include the children’s views in the self evaluation process, by asking them how we can improve.
  • Develop CPD providing staff with skills to enhance their practice to an outstanding level.

The personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding because:

  • Staff are sensitive and reassuring towards children’s worries and in turn children have warm and close bonds, and feel able to seek comfort from them when needed.
  • Staff demonstrate excellent skills in managing children’s behaviour and promoting their welfare and personal development.
  • The promotion of children’s safety is outstanding.
  • Children have an excellent awareness of how to keep themselves safe in different situations.
  • Children’s understanding of good health is promoted in meaningful ways.
  • Children are responsible and very well behaved.
